LINES ON LIFE…
...FROM THE PASTOR
When we pray it is very beneficial for us to remember that God is more concerned about His plan being accomplished than we are. God’s desire is that we trust Him; that we trust His timing, that we trust that it is His will to answer our prayers as we seek His purpose being fulfilled within our lives. The Psalmist of old in Psalms 141:3 makes an excellent observation or statement, as we consider this, He says in the third verse, “Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.” He begins this 141st Psalm by saying, “Oh, Lord, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” [vs1, 2] Then he says,
“Set a guard over my mouth”.
We frequently, in our commentaries of prayer and to each other, endeavor to say the right thing at the right time. But, why can we not just allow God to take control, yield to His timing, and not say what we feel like we need to say or even do what we feel like we need to do but allow God to help us rather than our helping God? When we ask God to lead us in prayer He will lead us in the prayers that will be in compliance with His plan. Ask God to give you confidence that He will answer your prayer according to His perfect will. Faith, in prayer, is trusting that God will answer your prayer. Trust, in words expressed in prayerful faith, will provide more reward than any other words that can be spoken.
